11/28/2008 - Dallas, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Dan Boyle scored twice and Ryane Clowe recorded three assists, as the red-hot San Jose Sharks stomped the Dallas Stars, 6-2, in a Pacific Division clash at the American Airlines Center.

Joe Pavelski had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who have won six games in a row and lead the NHL with 39 points. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 25 shots, while Devin Setoguchi and Joe Thornton both registered two assists.

Patrick Marleau added a helper and, like Setoguchi and Thornton, is riding a seven-game point streak. Setoguchi has five goals and eight assists; Thornton has posted four goals and nine assists; and Marleau has four goals and six assists over his run.

Loui Eriksson and James Neal lit the lamp for Dallas, which has yet to win consecutive games this season. Marty Turco gave up five goals on 19 shots before he was yanked at the beginning of the third period. Tobias Stephan made 10 saves the rest of the way.

San Jose struck for the game's first goal with 8:15 remaining in the opening frame. Clowe kept in a clearing attempt at the blueline, moved towards the top of the left circle before letting go a shot that was redirected past Turco by Pavelski.

The Stars, though, evened the score just 91 seconds later on Eriksson's team- leading 11th goal of the season.

San Jose reclaimed the lead on Boyle's power-play marker less than two minutes later, and the offensive defenseman lit the lamp again in the waning moments of the period.

The play initiated behind the net, where Thornton dished to an uncovered Boyle in the slot and he fired a wrister that beat Turco on the stick side with 1:15 to go.

Milan Michalek and Rob Blake scored in the middle stanza for San Jose, and Tomas Plihal made it a 6-1 game at the 9:44 mark of the third.

Neal capped the scoring with 3:33 to play.

Game Notes

San Jose is 7-3-0 on the road this season...The Stars are 2-4-3 at home...The Sharks went 2-for-6 on the power play, while Dallas finished 0-for-5.

El Duque expected to throw Tuesday

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets pitcher Orlando Hernandez, sidelined at spring training because of arthritis in his neck, is expected to resume throwing on Tuesday.

Hernandez received a cortisone shot Thursday after leaving camp and returning to New York to have his neck examined. The 41-year-old right-hander is penciled in as the team's No. 2 starter behind Tom Glavine.

El Duque's health is a major issue for the Mets, who won the NL East in 2007 and came within one victory of the World Series. Their aging and unsettled rotation is a big question mark this year.

MySportsbook.com has the Mets as -110 favorites to repeat as NL East champions odds

Hernandez went 11-11 with a 4.66 ERA last season, including 9-7 with a 4.09 ERA in 20 starts after the Mets acquired him from Arizona in late May. But he missed the playoffs because of a torn calf muscle.

New York already is without Pedro Martinez, out until at least midseason following rotator cuff surgery. Among those competing for starting jobs are prospects Mike Pelfrey, Philip Humber and Jason Vargas, plus veterans Chan Ho Park, Jorge Sosa and Aaron Sele.

Notes: Mets manager Willie Randolph is excited about two new utility players he could have on his bench: Damion Easley and David Newhan. ''Their value is really all over the place,'' Randolph said. Easley can play anywhere in the infield and could be used as an emergency outfielder, though Randolph said he would prefer to keep the veteran in the infield. Newhan, meanwhile, can play second base, third or any outfield position for the Mets. ''I love versatility,'' Randolph said. ''I love guys that can give me options when I need them to step in.''
