Teague leads the team in scoring with his 22.4 ppg, shooting not only 55.2 percent from the field, but also 57.1 percent behind the three-point line. Johnson accounts for 15.2 ppg and is second on the squad with 8.2 rpg, trailing only Aminu (13.4 ppg) who has settled into the paint to record nine rebounds per contest which only slightly makes up for his lackluster 12-of-24 shooting at the free-throw line these days.
Baylor took great care of the ball against Arizona State on Friday, committing just eight turnovers in the victory. LaceDarius Dunn came off the bench to post a team-best 27 points in just 30 minutes, thanks in large part to 6-of-12 shooting from behind the three-point line. Curtis Jerrells tacked on 22 points and seven assists, followed by Henry Dugat with 14 points in the win as well. On a team that is posting a hefty 86.3 ppg through six contests, it should be expected that there are more than a couple of players who can handle the pressure of being the main focus of the scoring attack. First on that list is Dunn with his 18.0 ppg, followed by Jerrells (16.8 ppg) who has combined with Dunn to account for 34 of the unit's 50 made three-point baskets. But just as important as his scoring is the assists that Jerrells manages to generate, more than six per game at this juncture.
