Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - The Ottawa Senators recalled defenseman Matt Carkner from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Carkner, 28, has scored one goal and added 10 assists while recording 70 penalty minutes in 24 games this season with Binghamton. He has played in one career NHL game, recording an assist and two penalty minutes for the San Jose Sharks in a 4-3 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Feb. 6, 2006.

(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks begin their tour of western Canada tonight, as they visit the Calgary Flames and Pengrowth Saddledome. The Sharks hit the road after a brief stop at home, where they posted a 5-3 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday. The contest in San Jose had followed a 1-0-2 road trip. In fact, though they have lost four of their last five on the road, the Sharks still managed points in four of those games (1-1-3) and are 10-4-3 as the road club this season.
